CHANGEMAKER

“My ultimate vision is to have an impact on reducing the burden of obesity in Australia; allowing people the freedom to live without the need to manage lifestyle diseases but just to focus on living their best quality of life every day.”

Felicity is one of Australia’s leading pioneers in the movement to end obesity and weight-related disease and illness in children and adults.

She is the founder and CEO of WeightLoss Solutions Australia (WLSA), a passionate advocate of research, and an active member of the Paediatric Obesity Health Transformers Committee, ANZMOSS (Australia & New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgical Society) and IFSO (International Federation of Surgical Obesity).

Felicity’s life’s work and purpose were shaped by a childhood that was heavily impacted by her mother’s weight-related issues and illness, following an accident. In 2000, Felicity returned to Australia and established WeightLoss Solutions Australia as one of the first dedicated organisations with the goal of ending obesity, a disease that affects 1 in 3 Australians. Through Felicity’s unique mix of expertise combined with her passion and commitment to truly help transform the lives of her patients, Felicity and her team have helped over 12,000 people re-shape their health and lifestyles including patients suffering from Type 2 Diabetes, Hashimoto’s Disease, Sleep Apnea and many other weight-related illnesses.

Her approach focusses on longer-term, sustainable transformation, helping to guide patients towards a balanced life by providing expert advice and support in four key areas:

  • Healthy Eating Behaviours
  • Movement & Physical Wellness
  • Stress Management & Mental Wellness
  • Lifestyle Re-design

Felicity’s passion to help people is tangible and infectious, and her drive to discover and develop new ways to support and help patients is evident in her new, cutting-edge programme Project GRIT (Growth. Resilience. Insights. Thrive.) Project GRIT is at the heart of Felicity’s next goal, creating a multi-generational positive impact by helping stem the rising number of children suffering from obesity.

As a leader in Health and Wellness, Felicity embodies her philosophies through her own healthy, balanced lifestyle, enabling her to provide wisdom generated from her lived experiences along with leading evidence-based information that is at the heart of her work and research.

Felicity is an inspiring Public Speaker and the host of Wellness Warriors, an exciting new podcast that unpacks advice and experience of experts in the worlds of health, nutrition and designing a career and lifestyle that you love.

Women Entrepreneurship

To listen to Felicity is to soak in over 20 years of experience as a CEO and passion as a mentor, grow people’s knowledge, skills, resilience and self-belief.

Felicity is no stranger to obstacles and naysayers and she has built her career by understanding how to grow through her fears, rather than shrinking, to create success and impact in work and a fulfilled life outside of it.

One of Felicity’s greatest joys is seeing young women grow into themselves in the world of business, becoming the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders who will help shape what the world looks like. Felicity is an active mentor and sponsor of women entrepreneurship through her organisation, WeightLoss Solutions Australia and as an active member of the Paediatric Obesity Health Transformers Committee, ANZMOSS (Australia & New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgical Society) and IFSO (International Federation of Surgical Obesity). Her passion, commitment and leadership were recently recognised in the 2020 Stevie Awards as well as the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards.

4.10am

Long before the Robin Sharma sold 15 million copies of the 5am Club, Felicity  understood the importance of intentionality when setting up her days for success by starting each day with the healthy habits that feed her energy, give her clarity and grow her physical and mental wellbeing.

Felicity is passionate about sharing the benefits of her lived experience and the life-changing journeys of the thousands of people whose lives she has helped to transform.

Here is a little glimpse into how Felicity kick-starts her day and the healthy habits that help her bring more energy to her work, her relationships and her life.

If you would like to find out more about how healthy habits can help you improve your physical, mental and emotional health and create a life by design, check out our latest podcasts.

Running

Felicity loves running.
She loves the mental and physical health boost she gets from every run.
She loves the community that she gets to connect with every day through running.
And she loves helping others to get into running and discover the benefits for themselves.

50km relays, half marathons, 5am runs three times a week with the Good Times Running Club are all a part of a lifestyle that has helped Felicity balance being a CEO, a changemaker, active mother to two beautiful children and living a life that she loves.

But if there is one thing that fills Felicity with joy as much as running, it is helping others to step out of their comfort zone and experience the physical and mental health benefits of running. Since 2017, Felicity has been sponsoring and mentoring patients to run in the Gold Coast Marathon. Helping many to achieve what they thought was impossible and to realise that they can achieve so much more than they previously believed.

‘There is nothing more inspiring than seeing a patient who has achieved an incredible weight loss result to go on and compete in a full triathlon completing the swim, bike and run (effortlessly!); others have walked at the GC Marathon and plenty more have run the many different distances on offer. One year I did the 10ks with a beautiful patient and we did the whole event side by side; that was wonderful.’ Felicity.

In 2019, the team was a record 100 people strong, each pushing through their own fears and limiting beliefs to achieve what seemed impossible and to make many great friends along the way.

Learn how Felicity helps you to step out of your comfort zone and inspire you to live your best life through running by checking out our episodes on our Wellness Warriors podcast.
