A Life Renewed
Six months post weight loss surgery Mary Barker has lost 37kg but gained an abundance of energy. She now has the urge to run, so much so that she has competed in the Gold Coast Marathon 2019.
Mary had an increased risk of breast cancer and heart disease which ultimately lead to her decision to undergo weight loss surgery with the support from a few colleagues who had embarked on the same path.
Her biggest goal is to live a long, healthy life which she couldn’t foresee achieving when she was 50kg over weight. Now she can comfortably buckle up on a plane and has even stopped snoring!
